Community & Pastoral Care

Faith lived out in love. Beyond Sunday worship, St Peter's is a caring community that offers fellowship, hospitality and pastoral care across Peterborough and its rural districts.

Our community

Called to love our neighbours

At the heart of the Christian faith is a call to love God and to love our neighbour. For St Peter's Anglican Church, that means being present in Peterborough not only on Sundays, but throughout the week — offering friendship, hospitality and care to everyone in our community, regardless of whether they attend our church.

Pastoral Care

Walking with people through every season

Pastoral care is one of the core purposes of our parish. In a rural community, where distance and isolation can be very real, a caring presence matters deeply. Our pastoral care includes:

  • Visiting the sick and housebound in their homes, in hospital, and in aged-care settings.
  • Companionship for older members of our community who may feel isolated.
  • Support in times of grief, including funerals, memorials and bereavement care.
  • Prayer and a listening ear for anyone facing hardship or uncertainty.

If you or someone you know would value a visit, a prayer or a conversation, please reach out to us. All contact is treated with care and confidence.

Fellowship & Hospitality

A place to belong

We believe that everyone needs a place to belong. Our fellowship life is warm, informal and welcoming — a chance to share friendship, food and faith together.

  • Morning tea after our services, where newcomers and regulars share conversation.
  • Seasonal gatherings and celebrations throughout the church year.
  • Hospitality that welcomes visitors, travellers and newcomers to Peterborough.
  • Support networks that connect people who might otherwise be alone.

You do not need to be a churchgoer to join us — all are genuinely welcome.
