Come as you are. Leave a little lighter.

Whether you've been to church every Sunday of your life or haven't crossed a threshold in decades, you'll find St Peter's easy to walk into. Here's exactly what to expect.

Your first Sunday

What to expect

Our services follow the gentle, familiar pattern of Anglican worship — prayers, readings from Scripture, a short reflection, and hymns sung with more heart than volume. The whole service usually runs a little under an hour.

There's no test at the door and no moment where you'll be singled out. Sit where you like, join in as much or as little as feels right, and let the old building do what it does best: slow you down.

  • Traditional Anglican worship, warm and unhurried
  • A short, down-to-earth reflection — no lectures
  • Hymns, with words provided so you can follow along
  • Children genuinely welcome — wriggles included
  • Morning tea afterwards, and nobody rushes you out

Holy Communion

When we share Holy Communion, all baptised Christians from any tradition are welcome to receive. If that's not you, or you'd simply prefer not to, you are just as welcome to remain in your seat or come forward with arms folded for a prayer of blessing.

Nobody will ask questions, and nobody will think twice. The table is the Lord's, not ours — and hospitality is the point of it.

Good to know

We want your first visit to be easy. A few things people often ask about:

  • Dress: whatever's comfortable — work boots are common
  • Parking: easy street parking right outside on Kitchener Street
  • Access: step-free entry and room for wheelchairs and prams
  • Offering: a plate is passed, but visitors should feel no obligation at all
  • Toilets: facilities available in the hall beside the church
